BCB to speak to Mahmudullah before picking T20 WC captain
Bangladesh have played 43 matches under Mahmudullah's leadership but won only 16

Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan said on Sunday that they will sit with under-performing T20 skipper Mahmudullah and have a word regarding his future, according to Cricbuzz.
Bangladesh have played 43 matches under Mahmudullah's leadership but won only 16 and lost 26; one game was abandoned. Out of last 13 T20Is, Bangladesh have won only game.
Mahmudullah's batting form also looks to be big concern for the team management considering the fact that since the last World Cup, his highest score has only been the 22 he scored against West Indies in his most recent appearance. His last fifty came against Papua New Guinea and since then he has played 13 innings without any major contribution.
With the ICC T20 World Cup not far away, the think-tank now looks in a spot of bother with plans going ahead. Nazmul said that the board will take at least one month to take a decision regarding their next World Cup captain. Shakib al Hasan might be given the responsibility considering he will be available from that point of time after having skipped the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe.
However, before taking any decision Nazmul insisted he will sit with Mahmudullah.
''It is difficult to speak today about who will be our captain (in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup). I think it will take a month to take a decision. Let the captain come and we will have to sit with him,'' Nazmul told reporters after the board meeting on Sunday in Mirpur.
''Certainly (under-performing captain is a concern) but let him come (and let us sit) but I don't think there will be massive change if we replace the captain,'' he said.
As captain, Mahmudullah raised quite a few eyebrows in the second and third T20Is against West Indies. In the second game, he decided not to use Mossadek Hossain despite a maiden-wicket over from him earlier. In the third game, Mahmudullah decided to complete Mossadek's full quota but did not bring Shakib on, and the decision was taken largely because Nicholas Pooran and Kyle Mayers were batting and as per the captain's matchup theory, left-arm spinners aren't the preferred option to left-handed batters.
