An unbeaten 82 runs by skipper Mahmudul Hasan (retired) enabled hosts BCB Under-19 team to score 197 for 9 (declared) in 61.1 overs against touring Sri Lanka Under-19 team on the first day of the two-day affair at BKSP ground in Savar Sunday, reports UNB.
Lower order Noor Hossain contributed 39 runs off 75 balls with six fours, wicket keeper Irfan Sukkur made 18 off 32 balls with three fours while opener Mohammad Rubel made 15 off 20 balls for BCB Development Squad, which opted to bat first after winning the toss.
Madusudan Ekanayeke and Mathusha Perera captured three wickets each while Lahiru Jayaratne took two wickets.
In reply, Sri Lanka Under-19 team opened the first innings in the afternoon and scored 110 for 2 in 26 overs with skipper Dinesh Chandimal batting with 60 runs and Banuka Rajapaksha batting on 18 runs.
Saikat Ali grabbed both the wickets-of opener Udara Jayasundara (29) and one down Buwaneka Ekanayake (2) -- for 20 runs in seven overs with two maidens.
