BCBL branch managers urged to maximise recovery of loans

The half yearly branch managers' conference - 2007 of Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited (BCBL) was held recently at the bank's training institute premises.
BCBL Managing Director Mohammad Farhad Hossain presided over the conference, while its board of directors Chairman and Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Ziaul Hasan Siddique was present as the chief guest.
The bank's Director FRM Hafizul Islam also spoke on the occasion as the special guest, and Deputy Managing Director (CC) Md Enayet Ullah delivered the welcome address on the occasion.
BB Anti Money Laundering Division General Manager (CC) Sawpan Kumar Biswas spoke on the prevention of money laundering. All the branch managers and executives of BCBL including EVPs Shahid Maksudur Rahman and M Ebadat Hussain took part in the discussion.
The meeting evaluated the performance of BCBL branches over the last six months, and adopted necessary strategies and action plan to achieve the bank's target for the remaining period of the year.
BCBL Chairman in his speech on the occasion urged the managers to ensure efficient and personalised service to the clients, and to develop professional knowledge and skill. He advised them to contribute to the national economy by increasing loan operation and international business, and by giving thrust on SME financing. He also directed them to reduce the classified loans, and to achieve the targets in respect of profit, performing assets, recovery and deposit mobilisation etc.
BCBL Managing Director emphasised overall growth of the bank's activities so that a sustainable business development can be achieved. He also stressed the importance of maximising recovery of loans, reducing classified loans, bringing all the branches to the profit earning level, and mobilising hardcore deposit etc, so that the bank can significantly improve its position in future.
