THAKURGAON: The district unit of Bangladesh Chemists and Druggists Association (BCDA) went on a strike Tuesday demanding release of the owner of a drugstore.
Sources said officials of Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) last Wednesday morning arrested Tulen Chandra, owner of Sourav Medical Hall, for selling G-Pethidine, an injection used for drug addiction.
However, as the administration refused to release the arrested medicine seller, all his fellows belonging to the association shut down their businesses in the town, creating immense suffering for the medicine buyers.
Officer-in-charge of Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station Mashiur Rahman confirmed the incident saying the arrestee was sent to jail, according to UNB.
