BCI chief hails BERC decision

Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI) President Shahedul Islam recently hailed the decision of Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) to install equipment for rectifying anomalies in power load factors.
BERC will have to invest a lot of fund to install the equipment and so will levy a charge on subscribers from January 1, 2011. The step will remove controversy on ghost bills, Mr Islam said in a statement and added that business clients should be made aware of the measures to be taken.
