BCI for simplifying issuance of environment certificates

Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI) has urged the government to simplify issuance of environment certificates for the industries.

Leaders of the BCI led by its president Mr. Shahedul Islam (Helal) made the appeal when he met Advocate Mostafizur Rahman, State Minister, Ministry of Environment & Forest on Monday, said a press release.

The older industries frequently find it difficult to comply with all the current regulations of the Department of Environment (DOE) and as such BCI leaders urged the State Minister to take a considerate view on this issue.

The state minister assured to fulfill the demand without wasting time.

BCI leaders assured the state minister of their cooperation in relation to the proper wastage management of industrial waste.

BCI leaders also requested that the anti-polythene shopping bag drive be carried out carefully so that the genuine plastic packaging industries is not affected.

Mr. Mufti Mohd. Zahid, Mr. Mohammad Golam Mostafa Talukder, Mrs. Priti Chakraborty, Mr. Jhangir Alam, Director of Bangladesh Chamber of Industries, Mr. B. M. Shamsul Islam, Member of Bangladesh Plastic Packaging Association, Mr. Abu Motaleb, Former Director of FBCCI, Mr. Faruk Ahmed Member of FBCCI and Mr. Jashim Uddin, President of BPGMEA and Director of FBCCI were also present on the occasion.
