BCL activist on remand over fellow\\\'s murder in Sylhet

SYLHET, Aug 13 (UNB): A Sylhet court put on Thursday Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activist Pranajit Das on a two-day remand in a case filed for killing a fellow activist at Madan Mohan College in the city.
Judge Shaedul Karim of Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Court-1 passed the order when Kotwali thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mosharref Hossain, also the investigation officer of the case, produced him before the court and sought a seven-day remand for him.
Earlier, victim's father Aklis Miah filed the case against the five BCL activists, including Pranajit, and about three to four unidentified people with Kotwali thana  on Thursday noon. The other accused were Angur Miah, Rahul, Masud and Tajib, students of the college and activists of BCL leader Parvej group.
BCL activist Ali Ahmed was killed in a factional clash over establishing control over Madan Mohan College in Sylhet city on Wednesday.
