BCL activist stabbed in Sylhet

Some miscreants stabbed a local activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), leaving him critically injured in Pathantula area in Sylhet city on Saturday night. The victim is Rubel Miah, 22, son of Sayeed Ullah, a resident of Nikunja-18 in the city's Madina Market area. Witnesses said a group of youths, equipped with sharp weapons, swooped on Rubel Miah while he was entering a hotel in Madina Market for taking meal around 10:30pm. To protect himself, Rubel ran into a private hospital in Pathantula area. But the attackers came to the hospital and chopped Rubel indiscriminately, leaving him injured. Locals rescued him rushed him to Ragib Rabeya Medical College Hospital. Later, he was shifted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated, according to a news agency.
