BCL activists barricade road protesting arrest of their leaders

PABNA, Mar 21 (UNB): Chhatra League activists put up a barricade on Pabna-Chatmohor-Dhaka road Saturday morning protesting against arrest of their three leaders on charge of extortion Friday night.
Police arrested Shariful Islam Sharif, general secretary of Atgharia Upazila BCL unit, joint secretary Asad Mallik and organizing secretary Golam Mawla Nannu in the upazila last night in connection with an extortion case. Protesting the arrest, the BCL activists as per their eight-hour action programme barricaded the road at 6.00 am Saturday setting fire to tyres, disrupting movement of transport.
