KURIGRAM, May 26 (UNB): Cadres of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) following a factional rivalry cut off right hand of a Jubo League activist in Kathalbari area of Sadar Upazila Tuesday midnight.
The victim was identified as Uzzal. Local sources said there was a longstanding rivalry between BCL and Jubo League activists over establishing supremacy in the area.
On the fateful night, a group of BCL cadres called Uzzal out of his house and took him to a nearby school ground where they cut off his hand below the elbow.
