BCL-ICS clash leaves 50 injured

KHULNA, June 13 (UNB): At least 50 people including three police men were injured in BCL-Shibir clash at Khulna Medical College (KMC) Sunday.
The police said the clash ensued at about 9.30 am when a group of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists resisted Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) from attending classes.
Local sources said Shibir member Raj was beaten up by BCL activists following an argument. The clash triggered when Shibir activists tried to meet KMC Principal Prof Dr Hamid Azgar protesting the action.
Police rushed to the spot and used club against the feuding groups to disburse them.
Later, the college authority formed a five-member team headed by Prof Monoj Kumar Ghosh to investigate the incident and report within a week.
