BCL leader, friend arrested with \\\'hemp\\\'

Police in a drive arrested the president of Sherpur district unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and one of his friends along with ‘hemp’ from Sarmara village in Bakshiganj upazila on Tuesday afternoon. The arrested were identified as Junayed Nurani Moni, 25, the district unit BCL president and son of Shahadat Hossain Manik of Uttar Nabinagar in the district town, and his friend Al-Mamun, 24, son of Abdul Hamid of Shekherhat village in Sreebardi upazila. Tipped off, a team of Bakshiganj Police Station raided Sarmara village in the afternoon and picked up the two along with 20 gram of hemp. The police team also seized the motorcycle of BCL leader Moni. A case was filed, according to a news agency.
