BCL leader hacked dead in Rajbari

A local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was hacked to death by miscreants in front of Qamrul Islam Degree College in Goalanda uazila headquarters of Rajbari district on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Jahangir Hossain, 25, vice-president of the municipality unit of BCL and son of Ismail Mollah, a resident of Alimuddin Para of the upazila. AKM Nasir Ullah, officer-in -charge of Goalandaghat Police Station said a gang of miscreants attacked Jahangir in the area while he along with Tuhin Dewan, president of the Goalanda unit of Tarun League was returning home riding a motorcycle at about 9:15pm. They chopped the duo indiscriminately with sharp weapons, leaving them seriously injured. Jahangir and Tuhin were rushed to the upazila health complex from where they were shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital. Jahangir succumbed to his injures on way to the hospital at about 10:30 pm. Police recovered the body and sent it to Rajbari Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. A case was filed in this connection, according to a news agency.
