BCL leader held over instigating girl to commit suicide

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) president of Government Bangla College unit was arrested from near Kafrul thana on Saturday on charge of instigating a girl student of the college to commit suicide, reports UNB.
Sub-inspector (SI) Moniruzzaman of Kafrul thana said Fatematuz Zohora alias Bristy, a student of the same college, had love affair with Bangla College unit BCL president Md Jahid for a long time.
Bristy had been proposing him to marry her, but Jahid denied. As a result, Bristy attempted to commit suicide by hanging herself with the ceiling of her room at East Kazipara on June 13, the SI said. She was admitted to Care Hospital at Mohammadpur where she succumbed to her injuries on June 19.
Topazzal Hossain, father of Bristy, filed a case with Kafrul thana in the early hours of Saturday on charge of instigating her daughter to commit suicide.
