BCL leader killed in bomb-gun attack in Kushtia

KUSHTIA, Aug 1 (UNB): A Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader was killed and two Jubo League activists were injured in a terrible bomb and gun attack at Sajipara village in Mirpur Upazila Saturday evening.
The deceased was identified as Tipu Sultan, son of Aman Malitha of Gacherdiar village in Daulatpur Upazila and a local leader of the student organisation associated with the ruling Awami League (AL).
The police said a number of unidentified miscreants attacked Tipu and Jubo League activists Zia and Gopal while they were returning home from a party meeting by a motorcycle.
The wrongdoers opened fire on them and exploded bombs leaving the three critically injured.
When the injured were rushed to the upazila health complex, doctors declared Tipu dead. The two other injured were sent to Dhaka in critical condition.
