BCL leader shot dead at RU

A leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Rajshahi University unit was shot dead by some miscreants in his room at Suhrawardy Hall of the university on Friday noon. The deceased was identified as Rustam Ali Akand, 24, former joint secretary of the Suhrawardy Hall unit of BCL and a fourth year student of Political Science Department of the university. Quoting students of the university, sub-inspector Mizanur Rahman of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) police box said a gang of miscreants stormed into the room no 230 of the hall around 1:30pm and opened fire at him, leaving him critically injured. Hearing the sound of firing, other students rushed to the spot and took Rustom to RMCH where doctors declared him dead, according to UNB.
