BCL men beat RU student again

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Mar 29: The unruly activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) again beat a student of the Rajshahi University (RU) on the campus.
Victim was identified as Shariful Islam Babu, a MBA student of Finance & Banking department of RU and also resident student of Shah Makhdum hall.
Residential students alleged that Saturday noon some BCL men led by their RU unit organizing secretary Golam Kibria went to 203 no room of Shah Makdum hall with arms.
Then they claimed money from Babu while he was studying at his room, as a suspected activist of Chhatra Dal at noon.
Getting no extortion they beat him. At this time they also threatened him to kill showing a pistol.
Hearing the news hall provost Dr. Imtiaz Uddin rushed to the hall and rescued the victim.
Later, he was admitted to university medical centre for treatment.
When asked BCL general secretary Touhid Al Hossain Tuhin told the newsmen "I heard the matter and necessary action would be taken against the alleged BCL men".
Some unruly BCL men on Friday beat Abdul Hanan, a student of 253 no room at Madar Bux hall accusing him of having connection with Shibir activities.
