BCL men beat up two DU students

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists have beaten up two students of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Dhaka University (DU) when they protested against irregularities, reports bdnews24.com.
Third year student Masud Al Mahadi and second year student Ali Ahsan Bhuiyan are undergoing treatment at the DU Medical Centre after the fracas on Tuesday night.
Shoumitra Dhar and Arif, responsible for the two separate incidents, have been handed over to the police by the DU authorities.
Mr Dhar claims himself to be a student of Daffodil University, but DU students said he used to stay in DU Hall under protection of Shanto Dhar, joint general secretary of BCL's Jagannath Hall unit.
Arif is a fourth year student of DU Linguistics Department.
On Tuesday night Masud Al Mahadi was beaten up at the canteen of Jagannath Hall dormitory, October Smriti Bhaban.
Meanwhile, around 11:00 pm a student of Bijoy Ekattor Hall, Ali Ahsan, was beaten up for protesting 'occupation' of a guest room'.
