Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has requested its organisational leader and Awami League Chief Sheikh Hasina to reconsider her decision to give up her role as BCL guardian.
"We have really committed a sin. We will refine ourselves by all means. We make an earnest request to our leader and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina not to depart from our organisation", BCL President Mahmud Hasan Ripon told the journalists on the DU campus Sunday noon.
"She is the heart of BCL. We never imagine that our organisational chief will leave us. We are deeply shocked at her unexpectedly quitting her guardianship to BCL," Ripon added.
However, many junior BCL leaders insisted that their president and general secretary to leave their posts, as they said that they couldn't think of BCL without the leadership of their organisational leader Sheikh Hasina.
Fearing assault by the junior leaders, BCL President Ripon and General Secretary Mahmudul Haider Chowdhury Roton left the DU campus hurriedly Sunday.
