BCL-Shibir clash leaves 40 injured at Carmichael College

RANGPUR, Mar 15 (UNB): At least 40 people, including 10 journalists, were injured in a clash between the activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Islami Chhatra Shibir at Carmichael College Tuesday. The college authorities organised a programme welcoming the honours first year students of the college on the campus in the morning. Witnesses said BCL activists during the programme brought out a procession welcoming the freshers at 11:00 am. Following the programme, Shibir activists also brought out another procession, which was resisted by BCL activists. A chase and counter chase took place between the activists of two organisations. They attacked each other, leaving 30 students injured from both the sides.
