Speaker of Jatiya Sangshad (JS) Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has said Bangladesh has been advancing forward to make the Charter of Changes in building a middle income digital Bangladesh programmes successful, reports BSS.
Dr Shirin stressed ensuring enhanced participation of the women with economic activities for their empowerment and educating the young generation with computer and ICT knowledge for attaining sustainable national uplifts.
She was addressing a views sharing meeting in Pirganj Upazila parishad auditorium in Rangpur, several street rallies and ceremonies arranged for placing foundation stones and inaugurating academic buildings of educational intuitions in Pirganj Friday and late Thurday afternoon.
She laid foundation stones of Upazila Muktijoddha Complex, academic buildings of Chatra Degree College and Jharbishla Hayatul Ulum Alim Madrashah, inaugurated academic buildings of Eklimpur High School and Chondipur High School.
District Muktijoddha Commander Mosaddek Hossain Bablu, its Deputy Commander Motiar Rahman, Pirganj upazila Muktijoddha Commander Abdul Momin Akand, heads of the educational institutions and Presidents of concerned union units of Awami League (AL) were present on these occasions at different places in Pirganj upazila.
Chairman of Dr Wajed Foundation and Vice-president of district AL AKM Chhayadat Hossain Bakul, President of Pirganj upazila AL Motaharul Haque Bablu, its General Secretary Advocate Tanzibul Islam Shamim, leaders of the grand alliance addressed.
The Speaker said the nation would be able to achieve economic freedom and build the Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Bangabandhu if the women constituting half of the country's population, could be involved with the uniform development process in every sphere of the society.
She said the AL government has conducted huge development activities in every sector during the past five years and it will take necessary initiatives for the remaining uplift activities for Pirganj as well as Rangpur.
She expressed her commitment to reach electricity to every village and computer to the educational institutions in her parliamentary constituency Rangpur-6 (Pirganj).
Dr Shirin called upon the people of her constituency for identifying the local problems to bring those to her knowledge so that she could take steps for prioritising those to resolve in phases.
Putting emphasis on uniform development of the womenfolk, she stressed for making them economically self-reliant through providing necessary training on various income generation activities so they could equally contribute.
She asked everybody to work unitedly in building a happy, peaceful and prosperous Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to make indpendence meaningful for every citizen.
