BD beat Maldives to win series 3-1

Bangladesh Women's Handball team clinched the four-match Handball Test series 3-1 beating Maldives Eves team by 19-16 goals in the 4th and last match at the Shaheed (Capt) M Monsur Ali National Handball Stadium in the city Saturday, reports UNB.
The winners led the first half by 10-7 goals.
Prior to the day's match, one minute silence was observed for the death of Fakhruzzaman Montu (53), younger brother of Handball Federation General Secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, who expired last night at Birdem hospital.
Earlier, visiting Maldives Women's Handball team made a good start beating Viqarunnisa Sports Club by 24-17 goals in the first match, but they suffered three consecutive defeats in the remaining matches at the same venue to lose the series.
The tourists suffered 16-21 goals defeat against Team BJMC in the 2nd match and conceded 12-14 goals defeat to Bangladesh Youth Eves team in the 3rd match.
