Bangladesh National Hockey team beat hosts Singapore 3-0 in a place-deciding match of the eight-nation FIH Hockey World League (round-2) in Singapore Friday, reports UNB.
In the match, Mahmud Russell, Pushkor Khisa Mimo and Mainul Islam scored one field goal each in 13th, 40th and 45th minute respectively.
Meanwhile, in the other place-deciding match, Ukraine beat Mexico 4-2 goals.
Earlier, Bangladesh made their early exit from the 2nd round world hockey event losing to Oman 0-2 in the third quarterfinal Thursday, which was Bangladesh's third consecutive defeat against Gulf nation Oman after losing by 2-3 and 2-4 in the 2014 Asian Games and 2013 Asia Cup respectively.
Bangladesh confirmed the quarterfinal stage from Pool-B as the 3rd place finisher securing three points from their three matches beating all-losers Mexico 6-1 while lost to Japan 1-5 and Poland 0-5.
