BD committee meets on AIIB on Sunday

The third meeting of the steering committee of Bangladesh on the China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will be held on Sunday at the Economic Relations Division (ERD) in the city.
The meeting will be presided over by ERD senior secretary Mohammad Mejbahuddin.
As per its agenda the meeting will review the outcome of the 2nd Chief Negotiators' Meeting (CNM), discuss the Articles of Agreement (AOA) and fix the date and time for ratification of the AoA, sources said.
The 2nd CNM was held on January 15 to 16, 2015 in Mumbai, India. It was attended by Chief Negotiators and Alternate Chief Negotiators from 26 countries as Prospective Founding Members (PFM) of the AIIB.
The bank will be an international financial institution in infrastructure development. Its membership is still open to all countries interested.
However, to become founding members of the AIIB, the interested countries must sign the Memorandum of Understanding on the AIIB establishment no later than March 31, 2015.
