BD contingent to participate in 4th Asian Beach Games

A 49-member contingent will represent Bangladesh in the 4th Asian Beach Games to be held in the Thai tourist town of Phuket on November 14-23, reports UNB.
President of Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation (BTTF) Mohammad Abdul Karim has been named as the chef-de-mission of Bangladesh contingent, which comprises 33 athletes, and 16 team and contingent officials.
Leading Asian athletes will battle for 169 gold medals in 26 disciplines of sports at seven different beach venues.
Bangladesh will compete in seven beach sports-Athletics, Marathon
Swimming, Basketball, Handball, Kabaddi (Men's & Women's), Volleyball, and Wrestling. Bangladesh contingent: Chef-de-mission Mohammad Abdul Karim, NOC Attaché - Fakhruddin Haider, Physician- Debesh Chandra Talukder, NOC Staff - M Mehdi Hasan.
Athletics - Mesbah Ahmed and Shirin Akhter (athletes), M Kitab Ali (official);
Basketball - T Aziz, Mithun Biswas, Shamsuzza- man Khan and Khaled Mahmud Akash (players), Selim Chowdhury and Abhijit Sarkar (officials);
Handball - Chowdhury Alimuzzaman, Ashiqur Rahman, Bipul, Naharul Kawsian, Mahbubul Alam, Jamal Hossain, Imdadul Haque, Sudan Barua, Towhidur and Kazi Rashed (players), M Nurul Islam and M Nasirullah (officials);
Men's Kabaddi - Arduzzaman, Kamal Hossain, Ashraful, Tipu Sultan, Zakir and Zayed Hossain (players), Ratan Kumar and A Jalil (officials); Women's Kabaddi - Shahnaz Parvin, Farzana Akhter, Sharmin Sultana , Fatema Akhter, Kazi Shaheen and Rupali (players), Subimal Chandra Das and Roushan Ara (officials).
