CHITTAGONG: Mar 22: A Bangladeshi engineer claims to have invented next generation power plant which, he said, will be able to solve electricity problem at lower cost.
"The electricity problem can be eradicated through NGPP Bangladesh Ltd's fuel-cartridge next generation power plants (NGPP) which, in stead of, low energy-density natural resources utilises fuel-cartridges containing highly-condensed fuel that are used to generate electricity," said Engineer Ahmed Farzan Kamal.
He urged the government and investors of the country to help try his newly invented power generation system through the NGPP which could save huge amount of money for purchasing fuel for power generation in traditional plants.
Ahmed said this at a press conference at Chittagong Press Club today. "Through the massive deployment of fuel-cartridge power plants, the government agencies and private investors can generate power at much lower costs," he said.
Now-a-days the per megawatt capital cost of fuel-cartridge plant is only Tk 30 million whereas it is Tk 250 million for the fresh coal-based plants and Tk 560 million for the solar plants, Ahmed said. Executive directors AM Kutub Uddin and MA Hamid were present at the press conference.
