BD hits global headlines for blackout

Bangladesh has been in the limelight of global media again and this time for a wrong reason -- countrywide blackout. The country plunged into darkness on Saturday as the national grid collapsed twice due to a major technical glitch at Baharampur point from where India supplies electricity to Bangladesh grid substation at Bheramara point. Most global news outlets, including the BBC, ran stories with much importance following the blackout that hit production and business hard, according to a news agency.
