Munima Sultana | Friday, 3 July 2020

The scope to reconvene the Bangladesh-Japan Joint Platform meeting has been created after both sides at a meeting agreed to continue existing projects and explore investment opportunity for new ones.
As per the discussion between the two sides on June 25, Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) plans to hold the 4th Bangladesh-Japan joint platform meeting through online at the end of the current month.
"We have got green signal from the Japanese companies under the sub-working group (SWG) to continue the platform meeting through online platform as the coronavirus situation is yet to improve," said PPPA Director Mohammad Abul Bashar.
He told the FE that the date will be finalised after finding readiness of the agencies concerned in the country to sit in the meeting online.
The 4th Joint Platform meeting scheduled to be held in Dhaka on March 12 was postponed after the first Covid-19 case was detected in the country on March 8.
