BD logs one Covid death, 28 fresh cases in 24 hrs

Bangladesh reported one death from Covid-19 and 28 new cases on Wednesday, official data revealed.
The figures were zero and 50 respectively on Tuesday.
With the latest daily counts, the total fatalities from Covid-19 reached 29,127 in Bangladesh since the virus was detected in the country in March 2020, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Some 5,098 samples were tested during the last 24 hours until 8:0am on Wednesday against 5,133 samples collected during the period.
However, the Covid-19 test positivity rate was recorded at 0.55 per cent on the day, down from the previous day's 0.90 per cent, the DGHS data revealed.
On the other hand, a total of 546 people recovered from the coronavirus disease in the country during the last 24-hour reporting time.
The rate of recovery was 96.91 per cent on the day, the DGHS figure revealed.
