BD logs zero Covid death, 27 new cases

Twenty-seven Covid-19 cases and zero death were reported in Bangladesh on Friday.
The figures were 35 and zero respectively on Thursday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the latest daily counts, the total fatalities from Covid-19 reached 29,124 in the country since the virus was detected in the country in March 2020.
Some 4,193 samples were tested during the last 24 hours until 8:0am on Friday while 4,212 samples were collected during the period.
However, the Covid-19 test positivity rate inched up to 0.64 per cent on the day from the previous day's 0.52 per cent.
According to the DGHS, a total of 180 people recovered from the coronavirus disease in the country during the last 24-hour reporting time.
The rate of recovery was 96.83 per cent on the day, the DGHS figure revealed.
However, the rate of fatalities from coronavirus disease remained static at1.49 per cent on the day.
According to the official data, the total Covid-19 cases have exceeded 1.95 million in Bangladesh and over 1.89 million people recovered from the deadly disease.
Meanwhile, nearly 13.91 million samples were tested since March last year.
