BD lose to Japan in World Hockey

The 30th ranked Bangladesh Hockey team lost to their superior opponent 14th ranked Japan 1-5 in the 2nd round opener of the eight-team World Hockey League in Singapore Saturday, reports UNB.
In the day's Pool-B match, Shunya Miyazaki of Japan scored two field goals in 2nd and 31st minutes while Takuro Sasaki (PC goal), Kenta Tanaka (field goal) and Hirotaka Zendana (PC goal) netted one goal each for their side in 11th, 18th and 22nd minutes respectively.
Mamunur Rahman Chayan scored a consolation field goal for Bangladesh in the 44th minute.
In the remaining group matches Bangladesh will face 35th ranked Mexico (at 1:00 pm Bangladesh Time) today (Sunday) while will be meet 18th ranked Poland Tuesday.
Meanwhile, in the day's another Pool-B match, Poland beat Mexico 6-0 while in a Pool-A match Malaysia beat Ukraine 5-1.
