BD manpower for Malaysia
Wednesday, 20 August 2014
It is good to learn that Malaysia will open its market to Bangladeshi workers for many new sectors. Recently, the Malaysian human resources minister visited our country and assured his counterpart of it.
Malaysia is a popular destination for manpower exports from our country. Many aspiring youths want to go to that country to earn money. Bangladesh and Malaysia have strong bilateral ties and day by day the relations are getting stronger. Malaysia has expressed its eagerness to employ Bangladeshi domestic help. We have a rich source of manpower, but due to the 'myopic view' of our leaders we have not yet been able to convert our young people into a national asset, rather they are being treated as a liability. Bangladeshi people are hardworking and honest. I am sure if given proper opportunity, the young people of the country won't take much time to transform Bangladesh completely.
Around 3 million Bangladeshis are working in Malaysia at present legally. I hope those who are working there illegally will be given an opportunity to legalise themselves, so that they can work and play a role in improving the economy of Malaysia. I believe the Malaysian government will take more such initiatives so that we can be greatly benefited by our manpower sector and be able to improve the national economy.
