BD needs to mobilise resources through tax revenue: Nakao

Visiting ADB president Takehiko Nakao on Sunday stressed the need for raising the tax-GDP ratio to infrastructure building in the country alongside spending in the social sector, education, health and social protection. "The country needs to mobilise more resources through tax revenue," he said while addressing a press conference at the ADB Resident Mission in the afternoon. ADB Director General for South Asia Juan Miranda and country director Kazuhiko Higuchi were present. Nakao underlined the importance of accelerating investment in infrastructure, according to a news agency.
