Tuesday, 6 May 2014

Russian Ambassador in Dhaka Alexander A Nikolaev on Tuesday said the people of Bangladesh and its major political stakeholders will decide the necessity of new elections saying Russia does not impose any model on any country. “Bangladeshi people and its main political stakeholders will decide to hold new elections in five days, five weeks or five years,” he said during his interactions with diplomatic correspondents at the Jatiya Press Club. Responding to a question on politics and new elections in Bangladesh, the Russian diplomat said he got ‘sick’ of such questions and mentioned that it is absolutely out of his concern. Apparently explaining China, India and Russia’s support to present government after the January 5 elections, the Russian envoy said leaders in Beijing, New Delhi and Moscow have ‘enough political wise’ not to impose anything on any body in the world, in South Asia and Bangladesh in particular, according to UNB.
