BD records zero Covid death, 42 cases in 24 hrs

Forty -two Covid-19 cases and zero death were reported in Bangladesh on Sunday.
The numbers of cases and death were 28 and zero respectively on Saturday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the latest daily counts, the total fatalities from Covid-19 reached 29,123 in the country since the virus was detected in the country in March 2020,
Some 5,244 samples were tested during the last 24 hours until 8:0am on Sunday while 5,254 samples were collected during the period.
The Covid-19 test positivity rate inched up to 0.80 per cent on the day from the previous day's 0.62 per cent.
According to the DGHS, a total of 707 people recovered from the coronavirus disease in the country during the last 24-hour reporting time.
The rate of recovery was 96.75 per cent on the day, DGHS figures revealed.
However, the rate of fatalities from coronavirus disease remained static at1.49 per cent on the day.
According to the official data, total Covid-19 cases have exceeded 1.95 million in Bangladesh and over 1.88 million of them recovered from the deadly disease.
Meanwhile, nearly 13.89 million samples were tested since March last year.
