Bangladesh and Russia agreed to increase information flow and further strengthen relation between the two governments and people, reports BSS.
The two sides agreed upon it when Russian Ambassador Alexander A Nikolaev called on Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu at the latter's office in the city Tuesday.
They agreed to take concrete steps to exchange information between the two countries to develop the democratic process further, to keep the people of both countries informed about the great strides being taken in each other's countries under the leadership of Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina and President Vladimir Putin, ensuring the involvement of the media in the entire process and to diversify the one-dimensional information flow in a globalised world.
Mr Inu recalled the contribution of Russia during the country's War of Liberation, post-war reconstruction and its consistent assistance thereafter while the Ambassador described Bangladesh as a tested friend.
Mr Inu said that the nuclear cooperation with Russia had given a new dimension to the prevailing relationship between the two countries.
