Bangladesh sent the highest number of foreign tourists to India in October.
Official sources in India’s tourism ministry said the number of Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) this year was the highest over the previous years.
Bangladesh tourists accounted for 14.15 per cent of the total overseas visitors.
“FTAs during the month of October this year was about .67 million as compared to about .60 million during the same period in 2013 and .56 million in October 2012,” a tourism ministry source said.
The Ministry of Tourism compiles monthly estimates of FTAs on the basis of data received from major ports and Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) from tourism on the basis of data available from the Reserve Bank of India, according to a news agency.
