BD shooters make sorry start at Asiad

INCHEON, Sept 20 (BSS): Although the expectations were high from Bangladeshi shooters but they failed to make good start and exited from the qualification round of the 10m air rifles with a miserable 12th position in team event of the 17th Asian Games Shooting Saturday.
Bangladesh woman shooter Armin Asha finished 33rd position in the individual event scoring 369 and Ardina Ferdous placed in 40th scoring 365 while another woman shooter Naznin Sultana Tumpa finished 41st position scoring 362.
China clinched gold medal in the 10m air pistol event and Chinese Taipei won silver while Mongolia secured bronze medal.
In the 10m air pistol individual event, Chinese shooter Menguen Jhong clinched gold medal and Jihai Jung of host South Korea secured silver while Sauta Chowdhury of India won bronze medal.
Besides, Bangladeshi shooter Kawsar Mia finished 45th position among the 46 shooters in the men's trap event.
