BD single-day dengue deaths hit record 24

Bangladesh witnessed on Wednesday 24 deaths from dengue, the highest single-day figure this year, while 1,623 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the last 24 hours till 8:00am on the day.
"The death toll from dengue infection crossed the 1520-mark as the authorities recorded 1,623 dengue deaths between January 1 and November 15 this year," a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said, reports BSS.
"During the period, 349 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city while 1,623 were admitted to different hospitals outside the capital city," the DGHS daily statement added.
"This year, 1,420 deaths from dengue, the highest in a year since dengue was detected in 2000, were reported while 281 died last year," the statement said.
With the new cases, the total number of patients rose to 2,96,665 the statement said.
