BD team in Assam for bus service feasibility study

NEW DELHI, Dec 9 (BSS): A Bangladesh delegation reached Guwahati today to study feasibility of introducing regular bus service between Guwahati and Dhaka.
Official sources said that a joint team of India and Bangladesh would undertake a trial run tomorrow (Wednesday) from Inter State Bus Terminus on the outskirt of Guwahati.
The objective of the dry run is to assess route conditions and other technical parameters. The survey team will start its journey at 8am on Wednesday from Guwahati taking the Shillong-Dawki in Meghalaya to Sylhet and Dhaka route.
Along with seven member delegation from Bangladesh, Indian officials from Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Home Affairs, External Affairs are likely to undertake the survey.
Officials of Assam and Meghalaya will also accompany them.
