State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid on Tuesday expressed the hope that Bangladesh is going to be an oil producing country. “Even, it could emerge as an oil exporting country,” he said, addressing a ‘Meet the Press’ programme at the Jatiya Press Club. Nasrul Hamid said that state-owned Petrobangla has started producing fuel oil on a limited scale. “We’ve huge petroleum and kerosene oil reserve. “We need political economics to bring it under a commercial plan.” Petrobangla is going to get more oil, but the transportation of this petroleum fuel need proper planning, he said, adding that the Energy Ministry is thinking of an integrated planning, according to UNB.
