BD to consider joining AIIB: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said Bangladesh will consider taking part in the Chinese initiative to form a new bank if it seems profitable for the socioeconomic development of the country. She made the statement while responding to a question of independent MP Rustam Ali Farazi (Pirojpur) during the PM’s question-answer session in the Parliament. China has taken the initiative to establish the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) by end this year to finance big infrastructure projects of Asian countries, according to a news agency.
