BD to get due share of Teesta water

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said on Thursday Bangladesh will get its due share of Teesta river water from India.
He made the remarks while speaking as the chief at a convention of Dhaka North unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Kalabagan play ground in the city on the day.  
Mr Ahmed, also a member of Awami League Advisory Council, said the BNP leader Khaleda Zia has now realised that her anti-government movement did not succeed by resorting to terrorism and killing innocent people through petrol bomb.  
"Failing to succeed in the movement through sabotage since January 5 last, BNP chairperson returned home," he said.  
Mentioning the glorious history of Chhatra League the commerce minister called upon all to remain alert so that opportunists could not join the Chhatra League and tarnish the image of the organisation. .
He said Bangladesh is moving forward and ahead of Pakistan in all development indexes and the country will become a middle income one by 2021.
Dhaka North Chhatra League president SM Rabiul Islam Sohel presided over the meeting that was moderated by general secretary of Dhaka North Chhatra League Azizul Haque Rana.
Joint general secretary of Awami League Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanok, Barrister Fazle Noor Tapash, MP, Chhatra League central committee president HM Badiuzzaman Shohag, general secretary Siddiqui Nazmul Alam, former president of Chhatra League central committee Liakat Sikder, former president of Dhaka North Chhatra League Ishaq Mian and general secretary Tasvirul Haque Anu, among others, were present.
