BD to highlight investment prospects, facilities at UNIDO meet

Bangladesh will highlight the existing investment opportunities and facilities in the country during an international conference on investment that begins in Austria on Tuesday. United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) will host the event at Vienna International Centre in Austrian capital of Vienna. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, Senegal’s Prime Minister Mahammed Dionne, African Union Commission Chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and UNIDO Director General Li Yong will address the opening session of the Forum. Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu has left for Vienna to attend the 2-day Forum, titled ‘Partnerships to scale up investment for inclusive and sustainable industrial development (ISID)’. Amu will highlight the investment opportunities and facilities that exist in Bangladesh in the Forum to attract more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the country. He is likely to meet UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and UNIDO DG on the sidelines of the Forum, said an official at the Industries Ministry, according to a news agency.
