BD to meet Zimbabwe in 1st ODI Friday

Bangladesh will take on Zimbabwe in the first match of the 5-match Bashundhara Cement ODI Series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Friday. The match will begin at 1:30 pm (Bangladesh time) Earlier, Bangladesh whitewashed visiting Zimbabwe to taste the first-ever 3-0 series win in the Test format in the current tour. Bangladesh will face Zimbabwe in their second ODI second match on November 23 at the same venue. The Tigers will play the remaining three ODI’s against the visiting side at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka on November 26, 28, and December 1. Bangladesh and Zimbabwe have the opportunity to gain vital rankings points when they go head-to-head in the 5-match ODI series. Ninth-placed Bangladesh currently holds an 11-point lead over Elton Chigumbura’s charges, and can further increase its lead while also reducing the gap with New Zealand and West Indies, who lie level on 96 points, according to a news agency.
