BD to raise food storage capacity

Bangladesh’s food grains storage capacity will reach 3.0 million tonnes by 2020, Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam told a workshop on Sunday. The Food Directorate organised the workshop to discuss modern food storage facilities project at the cirdap auditorium. “The government is building eight modern warehouses with capacity of storing 0.54 million tonnes of foodgrains with financial support from the World Bank,” he said, according to a news agency.
