BD to sign treaty with CERN

Bangladesh will sign a treaty on research with European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) in June next. The decision was taken at a meeting between Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and CERN director general Prof Rolf-Dieter Heuer at Nahid’s ministry office. Under the treaty, researchers, teachers and students will be able to avail themselves of different facilities regarding science education and practice, and research works from CERN. Besides, it was decided at the meeting that both local and CERN researchers will meet in a three-day workshop in Dhaka in December next, according to a news agency.
