BD, Turkey to work jointly in ICT sector

Bangladesh and Turkey have vowed to work jointly in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector including investment in local hi-tech parks in coming days.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for ICT, and Mustafa Osman Turan, Turkey Ambassador to Bangladesh, discussed this at a view exchange meeting at the Bangladesh Hi-tech Park Authority (BHTPA) conference room on Wednesday.
Hosne Ara Begum, BHTPA Managing Director, and N M Zeaul Alam, Senior Secretary of the ICT Division, were also present at the meeting, among others.
Mr Zunaid Ahmed said the two countries maintain an inseparable relation in the areas of religion and culture.
"Besides, the economic relations between the two countries are also getting stronger day by day," he said.
During a presentation, the state minister also said global companies are working in the flagship hi-tech park in Gazipur, from where ICT products are also being exported to other countries.
Ambassador Mustafa Osman Turan recollected the memory of visiting the Bangladesh-Turkey Technical Institute in Lalmonirhat in February.
"Turkey is interested to work in collaboration with Bangladesh," he said.
Other top officials of the ICT Division and the Turkish embassy were also present at the meeting.
