BD urges NYPD to increase vigilance

In the wake of a robbery at an apartment of a Guyanese family, Bangladesh has urged the New York Police Department (NYPD) for increased vigilance in Jamaica area of the New York city as a good number of Bangladeshis are living there. "I also talked to NYPD over phone and requested for increased vigilance in the area where a good number of Bangladeshis are living," M Shameem Ahsan, Consul General at Bangladesh Consulate in New York told the news agency Tuesday. — UNB
