Amina Begum, a Bangladeshi woman entrepreneur has been awarded the Youth Business International (YBI) Entrepreneur of the Year in London, UK, said a press release.
Amina, the owner of Amir Tailors and Boutique, was given the award at a function held in the Museum of London Thursday for her extra ordinary contribution in small and medium sector.
Industries minister Dilip Barua was present at the YBI award giving ceremony as the chairperson of the SME Foundation. He left for the UK on 7 November to attend the function and will return on November 13.
The recognition of a Bangladeshi woman entrepreneur will help strengthen women entrepreneurs participation in the country's industrialization process, the release said.
YBI gives the awards to the entrepreneurs in various categories for their significant performance. YBI runs their own entrepreneurship projects in 38 countries across the globe.
